The following includes some of the most important information regarding what to look for and how to choose a micro pinner. The pins themselves come in stacks similar to those inserted into finish or brad nailers, but they don’t have a head, meaning a pin nailer can drive one without leaving a noticeable hole. Pin nailers, also known as micro pinners, drive very thin fasteners that are actually just sturdy wires. The good news is there’s another option: the stealth, compact pin nailer. And when they don’t crack, they leave behind large holes that require going back with wood putty to fill them. These fasteners often act like wedges through thinner pieces of wood, causing them to split or crack. The original 1/4 bayonet connector was very firmly fixed to the gun with thread locking compound, I can understand why this is done, but I did have to hold the gun in a bench vice to facilitate removal of the original connector. There are certain situations in finish carpentry and woodworking where a big finish or brad nail just won’t do. I swapped out the Kamsin "Euro" connector for a spare I had in my workshop and the air leak vanished. The only slight negative is that the Euro style air connector supplied by Kamsin in the box was quite leaky when connected to my compressed air hose. Kamsin have a similar model, the 630, which does have trigger safety. If the air is connected and you pull the trigger, the gun will fire. This model does not have a built in safety. It comes with a spare set of o-rings in the box and a reasonably good short user manual. Given that the pin guns from Makita and other main brands are at least twice the price, the P625 is value for money. It needs a bit of tinkering (adjustment) at first to have it working effectively, but after that it seems suitable for casual usage.
